ராம் மற்றும் பிரேம் பக்கத்து வீட்டுக்காரர்கள். ராம் ஒரு ஏழை விவசாயி. பிரேம் ஒரு நில உரிமையாளர். ராம் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தார். இரவில் தனது வீட்டின் கதவுகளையும் ஜன்னல்களையும் மூடுவதற்கு ராம் ஒருபோதும் கவலைப்படவில்லை.
ராமிற்கு இரவில் ஆழ்ந்த தூக்கம் இருந்தது. பிரேம் எப்போதும் மிகவும் பதட்டமாக இருந்தார். இரவில் தனது வீட்டின் கதவுகளையும் ஜன்னல்களையும் மூட பிரேம் மிகவும் ஆர்வமாக இருந்தார். பிரேமால் நன்றாக தூங்க முடியவில்லை.
யாராவது தனது பணத்தை திருடக்கூடும் என்று நினைத்து பிரேம் எப்போதும் கவலைப்பட்டார். பிரேம் நிம்மதியாய் வாழும் ராமை கண்டு பொறாமைப்பட்டார்.
ஒரு நாள், பிரேம் ராமை அழைத்து, ‘என் அன்பு நண்பரே, நான் ஏராளமான செல்வங்களால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறேன். நான் உன்னை வறுமையில் காண்கிறேன். எனவே, இந்த பணத்தை எடுத்து செழிப்புடன் வாழ்க” என்று கூறி பிரேம் ராமிடம் பணத்தை கொடுத்தார்.
ராம் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் இருந்தார். இரவு வந்தது. ராம் வழக்கம் போல் படுக்கைக்குச் சென்றார். ஆனால், இன்று, ராமால் தூங்க முடியவில்லை.
ராம் சென்று கதவுகளையும் ஜன்னல்களையும் மூடினார். ராமால் இன்னும் தூங்க முடியவில்லை. ராம் பணப்பெட்டியைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டே இருந்தார். இரவு முழுவதும் ராம் சரியாக தூங்கவில்லை.
காலை வந்தவுடனேயே ராம் பணப்பெட்டியைப் பிரேமிடம் எடுத்துச் சென்றார். ராம் பெட்டியை பிரேமிடம் கொடுத்து, ‘அன்புள்ள நண்பரே, நான் ஒரு ஏழை தான். ஆனால், உங்கள் பணம் என்னிடமிருந்த நிம்மதியைப் பறித்து விட்டது. தயவுசெய்து உங்கள் பணத்தை திரும்பப் பெற்று கொள்ளுங்கள்” என்றார் ராம்.
நீதி : பணத்தால் எல்லாவற்றையும் பெற முடியாது.
Two Neighbours..!!
Ram and Prem were neighbours. Ram was a poor farmer. Prem was a landlord. Ram used to be very happy. He never bothered to close the doors and windows of his house at night.
He had deep sleep at night. Prem used to be very tense always. He was very keen to close the doors and windows of his house at night. He could not sleep well.
He was always bothered that someone might steal away his money. He envied the peaceful Ram.
One day, Prem calls Ram and gave him a boxful of cash saying, “My dear friend, I am blessed with plenty of wealth. I find you in poverty. So, take this cash and live in prosperity.”
Ram was overwhelmingly happy. Night came. Ram went to bed as usual. But, today, he could not sleep.
He went and closed the doors and windows. He still could not sleep. He began to keep on looking at the box of cash. The whole night he was disturbed.
As soon as the morning came, Ram took the box of cash to Prem. He gave the box to Prem and said, “Dear Friend, I am poor. But, your money took away peace from me. Please take back your money.”
Moral : Money can not get everything.
